Mist is a 17yr old, 14.2h Palomino Gelding. At home, he is a quiet farm horse; but he is not a plodder. He has a rather fast walk. Bikes and dogs don't phase him. He'll walk and muster all day. I like to lead horses off him and use a racquet and ball out in the paddock to practice polocrosse. He's never played except with my son playing on him at Horse Camps . Any Junior who is not a learner or an adult in a lower grade could go straight out onto the Polocrosse field on him. He just wouldn't be that relaxed lopping horse.
Mist was brought for my son when he was not quite 10. At his first 2 horse sports, he got Reserve Champion Boy Rider on it. This was not due to success in the ring (not a hack horse), but because of its speed in sporting. Since then my son rode him at a 5 day horse camp and has ridden him for mustering and general riding. I've been leading polocrosse horses off him. Unfortunately, recently my son has come to dislike Mist because of how it gets at horse sports. Mist just wants to be let go and he will go as he knows what he is doing. But my son has lost some of his confidence and is holding Mist back, so Mist gets excited and on his toes. My son does like to ride him at home as he provides him wih a pleasurable ride. He does not buck, pigroot or bolt. He is not hard to stop and does not pull, he just wants to go when at sporting events. At home he is not like this at all. He can be just got out of the paddock. He is a different horse when taken out and about. Apparently he has done a lot of sporting in his past (which I can tell, as he stands patiently in line for his turn, and as soon as you go to line up at an event, he is one of those typical 'I'm ready to go' Pony Club sporting horses) and has camp-drafted and barrelled. He is very easy to shoe, self loads and travels well. On the ground he is very well mannered. Mist is pigeon-toed, but this does not effect him. He holds his head high so he does not look good in a ring (otherwise a good looking horse) and when taken out slow and showy is not him. A kid who can ride or a teenager who wants to just go in sporting or anyone wanting a reliable farm horse, would have a ball on him. In my case, the horse is better than the rider (my son). Very cheap. No internet scammers wanting Paypal deposits please.
